About
Maureen A. Barlow, MS (she/her) is the Founding Principal of Cardinal Experience Research, a user experience research consultancy that specializes in both in-person and remote UX research. We work with software and hardware products, research operations, as well as employee training programs and business processes. We conduct qualitative and quantitative research with a special focus on human-centered design as it relates to cognitive and mental health accessibility.
With 12 years of experience in UX research and design, Maureen has worked in a variety of industries, including publishing, finance, employee training & development, healthcare, and scientific instrumentation. She has had numerous speaking engagements at conferences such as Harvard University's Annual IT Summit, DevLearn, and the eLearning Guild Annual Gathering. Maureen has a Master of Science in Human Factors in Information Design from Bentley University.
Interestingly enough, Maureen's bachelor's degree is in biology, and she worked for several years as a molecular biology researcher conducting DNA research before she became a UX researcher. As such, her UX research techniques and methodologies benefit from her scientific experience and perspective.
